Account Deletion Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

1. How to Delete Your Account

You may request account deletion at any time using either of the following methods:

  • In the app: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the on-screen steps.
  • By email: Send a deletion request to support@alogeriatric.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will process your request within 7 business days of verification.

2. What Happens When You Delete Your Account

Once your account deletion request is confirmed, the following actions are taken:

  • Your personal identifiers — name, email address, phone number, home address, and profile photograph — are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
  • Your login credentials are deactivated immediately upon confirmation.
  • Any active subscriptions are cancelled. Please note that no refund is provided for unused subscription periods — see our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.
  • Payment transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by the Income Tax Act, 1961 and applicable GST regulations, but are dissociated from your personal identity.

3. Medical Records & Anonymisation

Important: Medical records are anonymised — not deleted.

Medical visit records, doctor notes, and health data created during the course of your care are anonymised (all personal identifiers removed) rather than permanently deleted. This anonymised data is retained for a minimum of 7 years after the date of your last interaction with the Service.

Anonymisation means that all information that could identify you — your name, contact details, address, and any unique identifiers — is permanently removed. What remains is a clinical record (e.g., "patient had diabetes, received cardiology consultation, monthly visits completed") that cannot be traced back to you in any way.

4. Why We Retain Anonymised Records

We retain anonymised medical records for the following legally and ethically grounded reasons:

  • Medical-legal protection:Under Indian medical law, a doctor can be held liable for clinical decisions made during a patient's care for many years after the fact. Retaining anonymised records protects both the patient and the healthcare professional in the event of a medical malpractice claim or dispute.
  • Legal obligation: Indian medical guidelines recommend a minimum retention period of 3 years for patient records. We apply a conservative 7-year standard to ensure comprehensive protection.
  • Public health & service improvement: Anonymised, non-identifiable data may be used in aggregate to improve service quality and inform general healthcare practices. It cannot be traced back to any individual under any circumstances.

5. Your Acknowledgement

You are informed of this anonymisation practice at the point of account creation and subscription. By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Your personal identity will be fully erased upon account deletion.
  • Anonymised (non-identifiable) medical records will be retained for a minimum of 7 years as described above.
  • This practice is in place to protect your rights as a patient and the legal obligations of your assigned doctor.

If you have questions about what data is retained or how anonymisation works, contact our Grievance Officer:
